Environmental Engineering, the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Institut Teknologi Bandung, is pleased to announce the 7^th Environmental Technology & Management Conference (ETMC) 2023, with the theme “Anticipating and Addressing Emerging Environmental Challenges”. This event will be held in Bali, Indonesia, on November 1-3, 2023. ETMC 2023 aims to be the leading international conference in Indonesia in the fields related to environmental management and technology. Therefore, we invite academics, professionals, and development actors to contribute by presenting and discussing the up-to-date research findings in Bali this year.

BACKGROUND

The world is facing a multitude of environmental challenges that are increasingly threatening the health and well-being of our planet and its inhabitants. Climate change, caused by greenhouse gas emissions, is the leading cause of rising global temperatures, more extreme weather events, and the loss of ecosystems and species. Pollution, in the form of air, water, and soil contamination, is causing significant damage to human health and the environment. Habitat loss, driven by urbanisation, deforestation, and other factors, threatens biodiversity and ecosystems’ functioning. Finally, resource depletion, particularly of non-renewable resources such as fossil fuels and minerals, creates economic and geopolitical risks.

These challenges are complex and interconnected and require urgent action to mitigate their impact. They are also global, affecting communities and ecosystems across borders and continents. Governments, businesses, and civil society organisations recognise the need to address these challenges and are developing innovative technologies and management solutions to mitigate their impact. The Environmental Technology and Management Conference (ETMC) aims to contribute to these efforts by bringing together experts worldwide to share their knowledge, insights, and experiences in addressing emerging environmental issues, including those related to environmental health. The conference will provide a platform for collaboration, learning, and innovation, aiming to develop practical solutions that can help create a more sustainable future for all.

Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, the 7th Environmental Technology and Management Conference (ETMC) will provide a dynamic and engaging forum for participants to learn from experts in the field, share their insights, and network with colleagues from around the world.
