A job suitability survey with areas of expertise was conducted on alumni of the Bandung Institute of Technology Petroleum Engineering Study Program, with the general results that the majority (93%) of graduates of the Bandung Institute of Technology Petroleum Engineering Study Program worked according to their expertise, namely working in the oil and gas industry, both national and foreign companies and in government offices in the oil and gas sector.

Others work in different fields and others continue their education to a higher level.

Graduates of the FTTM ITB Petroleum Engineering Study Program generally have or enter the ITB Alumni Association (IA ITB). – http://www.ia-itb.com/. Besides that, ITB Petroleum Engineering Alumni gather in an organization called "ITB Petroleum Engineering Alumni (ATM)".

Partisipasi alumni dalam memajukan Program Studi Sarjana Teknik Perminyakan cukup baik. Kontribusi alumni dalam memajukan Program Studi Teknik Perminyakan baik untuk kegiatan akademik maupun non-akademik berupa sumbangan untuk beasiswa kepada mahasiswa, sumbangan fasilitas (komputer, alat-alat laboratorium dll.), berpartisipasi aktif dalam diskusi-diskusi mengenai kurikulum Prodi Sarjana Teknik Perminyakan, memberikan Kuliah Tamu. Alumni yang tersebar di berbagai Industri dapat membantu program studi untuk membangun jejaring dan memberikan informasi lowongan pekerjaan.
