Internet Access

The PE Study Program's information and internet systems are connected to ITB's main network system. ITB's internet network system is managed by the Information Resources Unit (USDI, Information Resources Unit). USDI is also responsible for maintaining the main ITB server (official www site, DNS, gateway etc.) including the IP number for each study program at ITB. Currently, the main internet academic and connection research, ITB relies on the Asian Internet Interconnection Initiatives (AI3). AI-3 is a satellite C-band link with a total bandwidth of 11 Mbps, built by Keio University and NAIST (Nara Institute of Technology) from Japan.

To have an internet connection, civitas academica must register and provide a monthly payment of around IDR 10,000 or US$ 1.0 for 300 MB/day limiting access. This limit value is considered adequate as local data transfers (downloads/uploads) are not counted. A total internet bandwidth for normal use is usually 100-200 mb/day.

PE students' access to the internet can be done in the PE computer laboratory or by using wi-fi access in the vicinity of the PE building. Wi-fi spots available on every floor of the PE building.
