This competition served as a platform for students to\npresent innovative research ideas in the field of metallurgy, aligning with the\nmain theme of IPMC 2025, \u201cAdvancing Sustainable Metallurgy Towards Circularity\nand Carbon Neutrality.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event commenced with an inspiring guest lecture by Prof. M. Akbar\nRamdhani, Ph.D., from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, who shared\ninsights on current advancements and challenges in sustainable metallurgical\nprocesses. His lecture provided valuable perspectives for participants to\nbroaden their understanding of metallurgical innovation in the context of\nglobal sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/multisite.itb.ac.id\/fttmmetallurgy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/463\/2025\/11\/image-30.jpeg\" alt=\"A person standing in front of a group of people\n\nAI-generated content may be incorrect.\" class=\"wp-image-6642\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The final round of the Student Paper Competition 2025 was held at the\nIPTEK Auditorium, East CC Building, ITB, featuring exceptional finalists from\nvarious universities across Indonesia. Each team presented their research paper\nbefore a panel of judges consisting of academics and industry professionals,\nwho evaluated the presentations based on several key aspects: Mastery of\nSubject and Delivery, Data Visualization, Q&amp;A Handling, Structure, and Time\nManagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, the competition awarded three best teams as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>\ud83e\udd47<\/strong><strong> 1st Place \u2013 Tactic Team, Institut\nTeknologi Bandung<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHydrogen\nReduction of Lateritic Nickel Ore Using a Fluidized Bed Reactor Toward\nEnvironmentally Sustainable Ferronickel Production\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>\ud83e\udd48<\/strong><strong> 2nd Place \u2013 Phytomaxxing Team,\nInstitut Teknologi Bandung<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDual\nValorization of Zinc Waste in Central Kalimantan&#8217;s Tailings Through Enhanced\nPhytomining: Integrating Inoculant-Assisted Metal Uptake and Hyperaccumulators\u2019\nBiomass Utilization into Bioethanol toward Circular Metallurgy\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>\ud83e\udd49<\/strong><strong> 3rd Place \u2013 Goes To ITB Team,\nUniversitas Diponegoro<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOptimization\nof Nickel Pyrometallurgy Roasting Using Exothermic Reaction by CaO Flux with\nPalm Kernel Shell as Biochar for Sustainable Processing\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Student Paper Competition IPMC 2025 aims to encourage students to\ncontribute to the advancement of metallurgical science and to address global\nchallenges, particularly in industrial decarbonization and sustainable energy\ntransition. Acara diawali dengan kegiatan makan-makan\nbersama yang dihadiri oleh para dosen dan seluruh mahasiswa sebelum agenda\nutama berlangsung.\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pertemuan ini dipimpin oleh Ketua\nProgram Studi Sarjana Teknik Metalurgi, Ir. Tria Laksana Achmad, S.T., M.T.,\nPh.D., yang memberikan sambutan, pengarahan, dan motivasi khususnya bagi\nmahasiswa baru.
