Carrying the theme \u201cAdvancing Sustainable Metallurgy Towards\nCircularity and Carbon Neutrality,\u201d this year\u2019s conference highlighted global\nefforts toward environmentally responsible and resource-efficient metallurgical\npractices. The opening ceremony was officially inaugurated by the Head of IPMC\n2025, D.Sc. (Tech) Imam Santoso, S.T., M.Phil., and the Rector of Institut\nTeknologi Bandung (ITB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Tatacipta Dirgantara, M.T., who both\ndelivered welcoming remarks emphasizing the importance of innovation and\nsustainability in the field of process metallurgy.The ceremony was enlivened by\na series of captivating cultural performances. The ITB Student Choir (PSM ITB)\npresented two exquisite renditions of Indonesian traditional folk songs,\n\u201cSoleram\u201d and \u201cSik Sik Sibatumanikam,\u201d followed by the Sigeh Pengunten Dance, a\ngraceful traditional dance from Lampung performed by UBALA ITB.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the\nmajor highlights of the conference was the Keynote Session delivered by\nProfessor Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology\nand Head of the Badan Industri Mineral (BIM), Indonesia. In his address titled\n\u201cNational Technology Acquisition in Processing of Rare Earth Elements:\nStrengthening Capability and Advancing Circularity in the Mineral Industry\u201d.\nFollowing the keynote session, the conference continued with a series of\nplenary and technical sessions, featuring presentations from distinguished\nspeakers representing academia, research institutions, and industry. These\nsessions provided an in-depth discussion on current challenges, technological\ninnovations, and policy directions aimed at advancing sustainable and circular\nprocess metallurgy on both national and global scales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/multisite.itb.ac.id\/fttmmetallurgy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/463\/2025\/11\/image-22.jpeg\" alt=\"A person standing at a podium\n\nAI-generated content may be incorrect.\" class=\"wp-image-6628\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/multisite.itb.ac.id\/fttmmetallurgy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/463\/2025\/11\/image-23.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6629\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/multisite.itb.ac.id\/fttmmetallurgy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/463\/2025\/11\/image-21.jpeg\" alt=\"A group of people sitting in chairs\n\nAI-generated content may be incorrect.\" class=\"wp-image-6627\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>IPMC 2025\nsuccessfully attracted a total of 464 participants, including researchers,\nprofessionals, and students from various institutions and industries,\nreflecting the growing interest and relevance of process metallurgy in\nsupporting sustainable industrial development. The conference also produced 39\nSCOPUS-indexed peer-reviewed proceedings, showcasing cutting-edge research and\ninnovations across multiple areas of metallurgy, materials science, and mineral\nprocessing.
