ITB Geophysical Engineering Doctoral Program (S3) Re-Accreditation Process
The Geophysical Engineering Doctoral Program (S3) is the only doctoral program in the field of geophysics in Indonesia. Throughout its journey, the ITB Geophysical Engineering Doctoral Program has graduated a number of doctors who have abilities and qualifications in the field of geophysics. A number of graduates of the Geophysical Engineering Doctoral Program have devoted their knowledge to several institutions, both government and private institutions. Statistically, most graduates of the Geophysical Engineering Doctoral Program are active as lecturers at a number of universities in Indonesia.
As of 2019, the Geophysical Engineering Doctoral Program has an A accreditation (BAN-PT). This is supported by the commitment of the Geophysical Engineering Doctoral Program to carry out the vision and mission which are the direction and objectives of the program. The vision and mission of the Geophysical Engineering Doctoral Program are realized in the curriculum, implementation of lecture administration and a supportive doctoral student research environment.
The accreditation of a study program is evaluated periodically within five years by the National Accreditation Board – Higher Education (BAN-PT). The readiness of the accreditation form documents is the first step for a study program to apply for accreditation renewal. Next, the accreditation form document will be thoroughly evaluated by the assessment team.
The Geophysical Engineering Doctoral Program is entering the re-accreditation process. This accreditation process begins with the preparation of accreditation form documents which is carried out from October to December 2018. The expected achievement target from this re-accreditation process is to regain the A predicate as previously obtained.
Referring to Letter Number 1940 / BAN-PT / SPT-AK / P / 2019 concerning Notification of BAN-PT field assessment, scheduled for 16 – 18 June 2019 The field assessment team will visit the Program Doctor of Geophysical Engineering. The visit of the field assessment team was carried out based on the decision of the Executive Board meeting of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) regarding the results of the adequacy assessment, that the Geophysical Engineering Study Program in the Bandung Institute of Technology Doctoral program was declared to have passed the field assessment stage.
