Dr. Ir. Budi Brahmantyo, M.Sc. said that knowledge in using a compass and reading topographic maps would be very useful and make it easier for Geophysicists to carry out their work in the field, especially in data acquisition activities in an area. To introduce them directly, field lecture participants were faced with a total of five outcrops and then made observations. The first and second outcrops are in front of the LIPI Karangsambung campus area. Next, the group of participants was directed to the third outcrop in the Jebug river area. After taking a lunch break, the participants were then directed to the fifth outcrop in Kali Mandala.

To conclude this Geomorphology lecture, field lecture participants were taken to Wagirsambeng hill to see the natural landscape of the Karangsambung anticline amphitheater. Not just looking, the participants were also asked to sketch the natural landscape. All the sketches were then exhibited and the three best sketches were selected. “So, the three participants with the best sketches that Mr. Budi has chosen are Jore, Ana, and Ihsan.” said Prof. Dr. Wise Warrior. At around 16.15, the lecture ended and the participants were mobilized back to the LIPI Karangsambung campus.
