1st Final Project and Thesis Open Seminar (23 March 2016), Geophysical Engineering, ITB
On March 23 2016, the Geophysical Engineering Study Program – Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering – Bandung Institute of Technology held an Open Seminar on ITB Geophysical Engineering Final Projects and Theses for graduates who will graduate in April 2016. For the first time, the Geophysical Engineering Study Program held an open seminar as a means of scientific publication of research results for Geophysical Engineering students. This activity was carried out at the FTTM Energy Building, ITB, 4th floor.
This time, the ITB Geophysical Engineering Open Final Project and Thesis Seminar with the topic “Main Issues on Geophysics” was opened by the Head of the Geophysical Engineering Study Program, Dr. Andri Dian Nugraha, S.Si., M.Si. This seminar invited prospective graduates and female graduates in April 2016 from the Geophysical Engineering Study Program, both undergraduate and master’s programs, to publish and present the results of their research while they were students at ITB. In the future, this open seminar will be held regularly (3 times a year) every time before graduation.
Hot issues and the latest research in the field of geophysics are published in the form of oral presentations and poster presentations. A total of 41 presenters contributed to this open seminar. From morning to evening, 9 presenters were invited to present their research in turn. The oral presenters are: Shofi Aulia Riza, S.T.; Pujiyanti Sri Lestari, S.T.; Wieda Nur Azani, S.T.; Arintha Tevyana, S.T.; Titis Lestyowati, S.T.; Muhammad Sabila Rasyad, S.T.; Retno Rifa Atsari, M.T.; Adi Wijaya Suchiana, M.T. and Massita Ayu Cindy Putriastuti, M.T.
Apart from that, all 41 presenters also took part in the poster exhibition session. This poster presentation activity was carried out in 2 sessions, namely the morning session and the afternoon session. A total of 21 presenters appeared in the morning session and 20 other presenters appeared in the afternoon session. The themes of all the posters presented represent various fields of geophysics, including global geophysics, applied and exploration geophysics, as well as exploration and engineering seismology.
As a form of appreciation for all presenters, all posters are assessed both in terms of appearance and scientific material of the poster, as well as the presentation technique of each presenter. The three best posters were then selected based on various assessment criteria.
The ITB Geophysical Engineering Open Final Project and Thesis Seminar closed with the awarding of certificates to all presenters and the announcement of the best poster presentation. The 3 presenters who received the best poster title were: Titis Lestyowati (1st best poster), Massita Ayu Cindy Putriastuti (2nd best poster), and Faiz Gunarwan (3rd best poster).
As stated previously, this open seminar is planned to be held regularly (3 times a year) before graduation. All prospective graduates and graduate students from the Geophysical Engineering Study Program will be required to publish the results of their research at this event. Apart from that, it is possible that other collaborations will be carried out, for example with lecturers or other students, to enrich the hot issues and latest research that will be published.
