Jumat 26 Juni 2009 bertempat di Campus Centre Timur – Institut Teknologi Bandung berlangsung Seminar Floating Offshore Structures Technology” (Teknologi Bangunan Lepas Pantai Terapung). Seminar ini diselenggarakan oleh Program Studi Teknik Kelautan (Fakultas Teknik Sipil dan Lingkungan ITB) bekerja sama dengan Komunitas Migas Indonesia, BP MIGAS, IMarEST (Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology), Alumni Teknik Kelautan ITB (ALKA) dan Keluarga Mahasiswa Teknik Kelautan (KMKL).

Acara dihadiri oleh kurang lebih 250 peserta yang terdiri dari mahasiswa, akademisi, pemerintah (BPMIGAS) dan praktisi di bidang Teknik Kelautan khususnya industri konstruksi yang terkait migas.

Topik “Floating Structure” ini dipilih terkait tantangan teknologi pembangunan struktur lepas pantai di laut dalam di masa depan. Dimana potensi minyak dan gas di laut dalam di Indonesia masih jarang disentuh.

Ditinjau dari kedudukan bangunan terhadap dasar laut, bangunan lepas pantai dapat dikategorikan menjadi dua yaitu fixed structures dan floating structures (bangunan terapung). Dimana pada bangunan lepas pantai tipe fixed, anjungan dibangun diatas kaki-kaki yang berdiri/terikat dengan dasar laut, pada umumnya dibangun di daerah laut dangkal. Sedangkan bangunan lepas pantai tipe terapung, tidak memiliki pondasi yang dipancang langsung ke dasar laut melainkan mengapung (seperti kapal) dan terikat ke dasar laut melalui sistem jangkar, bangunan tipe ini sangat cocok untuk daerah eksplorasi di laut dalam (deep water).

Dalam sambutannya Ketua umum Migas Indonesia (Swastioko Budhi Suryanto) menyatakan bahwa forum tentang teknik lepas pantai khususnya yang terkait dengan Migas masih sangat jarang, sehingga diharapkan kerjasama KMI dan Prodi Teknik Kelautan akan berkelanjutan. Bahkan banyak usulan untuk mengadakan forum Internasional dengan topik semacam ini untuk lingkup regional.Sedang Ketua Program Studi Teknik Kelautan (Ir. Muslim Muin, Ph.D) berharap jalinan kerjasama antara praktisi industri, akademisi dan asosiasi profesi akan saling menunjang di masa depan, dan forum ini merupakan awal terjalinnya kerjasama tersebut. Penelitian yang dilakukan oleh akademisi di universitas diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang berguna bagi dunia industri. Di sisi lain industri diharapkan dapat memberikan masukan topik-topik menarik untuk diteliti yang dijumpai di lapangan.

Dr. Ir. Puti Farida Marzuki, dekan Fakultas Teknik Sipil dan Lingkungan (FTSL) ITB, menyatakan dukungannya atas kegiatan yang dinilai sangat baik ini. Karena sejalan dengan pandangan FTSL khususnya dalam 12 tahun terakhir ini yang menganggap masukan dari dan kerjasama dengan pihak industri adalah hal yang sangat penting untuk uiversitas, sejalan dengan kemajuan teknologi.

Dr. Gde Pradnyana Sutha, staf ahli BP MIGAS, Keynote Speaker dalam seminar ini, dalam paparannya menyebutkan bahwa potensi migas di laut dalam di Indonesia masih sangat menjanjikan, terutama potensi gas. Diantaranya adalah potensi migas di selat makasar yang tergolong laut dalam. Disebutkan pula sumber migas di Abadi di perairan Arafura yang memiliki 3 kali potensi migas di Tangguh.

Dengan bergeraknya eksplorasi migas di Indonesia ke arah laut dalam tentunya harus diimbangi dengan kemajuan di bidang teknologi bangunan lepas pantai yang dapat melayani kegiatan eksploitasi migas di laut dalam tersebut.

Sesi pemaparan materi terdiri dari 6 sesi, yang menampilkan pembicara-pembicara perwakilan dari BP MIGAS, Asosiasi Profesi (IMarEST), Praktisi Industri (BP West Java dan Chevron Houston) dan akademisi. Materi utama dalam seminar disampaikan oleh Dr. Iwan D Aryawan, ahli bangunan lepas pantai terapung dari Chevron, yg memaparkan topik “Floating Offshore Technology: Concept Selection for Deepwater Development” dan mendapat sambutan yang luar biasa dari peserta seminar karena topik ini dianggap masih cukup langka di Indonesia.

  • Hold Undergraduate (S1) degree in related fields
  • Complete the graduate program application form from the Graduate School (SPS)
  • Pass the admission test at Ocean Engineering Program that covers written examination on Math and ocean engineering related topics and personal interview
  • The Potential Scholastic Test (Tes Potensi Akademik/TPA , a GRE equivalent) with a minimum score of 475
  • English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT) with a minimum score of 77 or equivalent to a minimum score of 475 in International TOEFL.
